A collection of naval and wartime stories of adventure and conflict. Inspired by the authors own time in the navy, these volumes contain many short stories and tales of naval life.

Written by "Bartimeus" the pen name of Lewis Anselm da Costa Ritchie, an English writer, naval officer and press secretary to George VI. It is believed he may have used Bartimeus after the biblical Bartimaeus, a blind beggar cured by Jesus, as he was blind in one eye.

Naval Occasions and Some Traits of the Sailor-Man, 1918.

A Tall Ship on Other Naval Occasions, 1918.

The Long Trick, 1918.

The Navy Eternal, 1918. With drawings by Douglas Swale, a British artist and illustrator.


CONDITION

Bound in half calf with cloth covered boards. Externally, very smart with light wear to the extremities and minor fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot.
